Children and Families are at the Heart of Everything We Do.
PRO-DEV TRAINING SERIES
What They Do Tomorrow Depends on What We Do Today.
For a child, the damage from emotional trauma can last a lifetime, if left untreated. It can alter the course of a child’s life, often resulting in self-destructive behavior as an adult, including criminal activity, substance abuse and difficulty in relationships. Through our advocacy efforts, we are committed to ensuring that trauma-affected children and families have access to life-changing care and treatment from qualified professionals and a clear path to a brighter future. What we do today will matter most tomorrow.
CAFCA is an alliance of agencies committed to providing quality care, leadership and accountability in services to children, youth and families in Colorado. Our members agencies represent a broad continuum of trauma-informed services for children, youth and families who have experienced trauma, instability, risk and adversity as well as those who are struggling with behavioral challenges including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Advocacy
CAFCA works throughout the year advocating on the local, state and national level on behalf of our member agencies and the children and families they serve. We partner with stakeholders and coordinate with other advocacy groups to help advance legislation that results in significant increases for provider rates of reimbursement and greater program funding. The children and families served by our member agencies are always at the heart of our advocacy efforts.
Collaboration
At CAFCA, we understand the close relationship between communication, which involves the sharing of information, and collaboration, which involves working with others and using that information to solve problems. Through a collaborative spirit, CAFCA keeps its members highly informed using a variety of tools and resources which convey details and interpretation of relevant issues. During the legislative session, members also receive regular legislative updates from the lobbyists.
Education
CAFCA is committed to providing trainings, classes and workshops for professionals working in the child welfare arena. Breakout workshops are offered at our annual conference each year, and our new Professional Development Training Series features monthly virtual workshops presented by top industry experts, which helps ensure direct care staff are at the top of their game with the latest trends and best practices in providing care and treatment to clients.
