FAMILY COMPASS
Navigating kinship & foster care so families don’t get lost in the system.
Family Compass works locally in Colorado Springs with area nonprofits to deliver fast, commonsense support from basic needs to mental health care, enrichment, and peer mentoring ensuring children and caregivers have the resources, stability, and community they need to thrive.
Family Compass is a collective effort of 16 grassroots organizations giving speedy, no-nonsense access to proven, existing services. Launched in 2024, we will offer placement stabilization to a sample group of 40 kinship and foster families in El Paso and Teller Counties. Our peer support team streamlines access to each support activity (as needed per family), making it easy and affordable for overwhelmed families. In addition to tangible grassroots support, we educate families about trauma-informed mental and physical health providers for a whole-child approach.
