Finding COVID-19 Tests

CAFCA member agencies had a helping hand during and after the pandemic in the form of free COVID testing kits, courtesy of the Colorado Dept. of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), whose generosity enabled CAFCA to distribute more than 15,000 COVID tests to organizations statewide.

Unfortunately, with the expiration of the public health emergency in May of 2022, CDPHE no longer has an inventory of tests from which they could distribute to organizations such as CAFCA.

The good news is that there are still numerous sites around the state where COVID tests may be obtained. The most convenient way to find locations is through CDPHE’s COVID-19 testing webpage and CDC’s testing Locator, respectively, where you can find local community testing sites, free rapid test pickup sites, and pharmacies with low or no-cost testing options. Additionally, many local public health agencies continue to manage free community testing sites in their area, and some pharmacies provide low and no-cost COVID-19 testing through the federal Increasing Community Access to Testing program.
